A2 level Information Communication Technology - Unit 4

Personnel

The Three levels of personnel in an organisation.

In the section on Organisational Structure these 'levels' of people were discussed:

  • Strategic - Chief Executive Officer (CEO): Managing Director (MD)
  • Tactical - Middle Management
  • Operational - Production Workers

The information supplied to these levels can be described as the more senior the level the less detailed the information needs to be.

In context of a football club the Chairman has a strategic role, the Coach has a tactical role and the team Captain has an operational role.

Each of the levels will require different detail from the information they receive.

Taking the football club example In their day to day activities the team Captain will be concerned about the next game. The Coach will have most concern about the teams form and fitness and if he can buy or sell players. The Chairman will have most concerns about revenue from fans and expenses such as wages, transfer fees and building costs.
